Importance of Understanding AI’s impact in the Workplace
The Biden Administration’s AI Executive Order calls for studies on the impact of AI on jobs to make sure efforts are undertaken to both minimize the potential harm and maximize the benefits of AI in the workplace. Efforts to understand the real impact of AI on workers and to understand how to most effectively use AI as a tool are crucial to best deploying the new technology. International AI Frameworks
The Biden Administration’s AI Executive Order calls for creation of an international framework. I think this is great in theory, but in practice I think it will be difficult to achieve as it is unlikely for different countries with varying approaches to get on the same page and create a cohesive unified approach, especially since there is a potential competitive advantage for any country who decides to not agree to any AI development or use restrictions. The Biden Administration’s AI Executive Order calls for creation of guidance on this issue which makes sense. Use of algorithms for profiling affects people’s rights and livelihoods. Establishing parameters around such use allows for a fair and just framework. Video availabl

Are Federal Data Privacy Legislation and AI Tied Together?
The Biden administration seems to think so as the recent AI executive order calls for Congress to create federal data privacy legislation. As a lawyer working in the technology space, I would love to see federal data privacy legislation as uniformity across the nation would not only create ease of operations for businesses handling data (which AI companies necessarily do as AI is data-intensive), but it would also create equal data rights for all Americans no matter what stat
